Tallinna Krematoorium offers two kinds of cremation funerals: cremation funeral and urn funeral.
Cremation funeral: The ceremony takes place around an open (or closed) wood casket, which is lowered down to the basement at the end of the ceremony, symbolising the more accustomed grave funeral. The deceased is cremated after that and is placed in an urn, which can be buried, or the ashes in it scattered. For a funeral organized by Tallinn Crematorium, there is no need to carry the casket into the chapel, which eliminates unpleasantness due to bad weather (rain, sleet, snow, storms, etc.) and solves the casket-carrier problem.
The urn funeral is very similar to the cremation funeral, but instead of the casket, there is the urn, which is taken out of the chapel at the end of the ceremony, and can then be buried or the cremated remains in it scattered.
In the case of a grave funeral, the ceremony takes place at the grave or in the chapel. The latter case is similar to the cremation funeral – the ceremony takes place around an open or closed wood casket, which is carried out after the ceremony and carried or driven to the grave and then buried.
